Dolby Surround

Since getting a 22" widescreen monitor, dual TV tuner, and the ability to
play live streaming DVD quality movies from Netflix, I decided to hook me
up some back channel speakers. I already had a fairly nice pair of
Pioneer black bookshelf speakers, and an Alesis 100 watt per channel
power amp that weren't being used, so I hooked 'em up and now I have 4
channel Dolby surround. The Cyberlink Media DVD player I use supports 4
channel as does Wndows XP, so it's essentially just like 5.1 except the
center channel is evenly split across the front speakers, which are my
Yamaha nearfields. It sounds freekin' great and Sonar still operates in
normal stereo only using the Yamahas. I could go as many as six channels
if I wanted to add more speakers, but for now I'm just gonna use the 4.
I suppose if I wanted to try doing a surround mix in Sonar I could even
play with that now.
